Mary Marlene Pauley, 81, of Wheelersburg, a long-time Sciotoville resident, passed away Monday, May 17, 2021, at Southern Ohio Medical Center. She was born in Lucasville on September 15, 1939, a daughter of the late Walter Maurice and Charlotte Ellen Hancock Jones.
Mary was a 1957 Glenwood High School graduate and an avid reader. She enjoyed playing Bingo and she had a passion for music. She loved her role as wife, mother, and homemaker most of all, and the Pauley home was a place where all her daughters’ friends loved to gather.
She was preceded in death on September 18, 2013, by her husband of 53 years, Jack Pauley. The couple was married on July 16, 1960, in New Boston.
Surviving are her four children, Jack “Butch” Pauley II of Sciotoville, Paige A. (Greg) Robbins, Dr. Brooke (Dave) Pauley-Conley, and Dr. Jennifer (Keith Edwards) Pauley, all of Portsmouth; two grandsons, Drew Robbins and Parker Johnson; and four step-grandchildren, Nathan Robbins, Mikaylah (Cade) Miller, Jase Conley and Emma Edwards.
Mary was also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Semones; and a step-grandson, Luke Robbins.
Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. John Gowdy officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth.
