Douglas Lee Davis, 70, of McDermott, passed away Friday, May 21, 2021, at his home. He was born November 24, 1950, in Portsmouth, a son of the late Woodrow Leon and Jean Ann Scott Davis.
Doug retired from USEC where he worked for more than 30 years as a DNI Operator. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 18 and he attended Pleasant Valley Community of Christ. He loved football and had coached for many years.
Doug is survived by his wife, Sandra Kay Skidmore Davis, whom he married August 28, 2013 at their home in McDermott; two sons, Dan Skidmore of Whittier, NC and Chad Burton of Cherokee, NC; a daughter, Tina Burton of Whittier, NC; two brothers, David Leon (Sharon) Davis of Lucasville and Jack Davis of Mansfield; three sisters, Patricia J. Cable of Monroe, GA, Nancy S. McGauley of Ft. Wayne, IN and Carolyn Hobbs of Lucasville; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and their families.
A Memorial Service will be held at a date and time to be announced with Phil Crabtree officiating.
