Clinton Edward Roe, 85, of Wheelersburg, Ohio passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, December 5, 2021, after a long illness. Clinton was born December 5, 1936, in Lewis County, KY to the late James and Olive (Barrett) Roe.
Clinton graduated from high school and was employed at Detroit Steel Mill, New Boston, OH for 25 years until the mill closed. He also did mechanic work.
Clinton is survived by his wife, Janice (Morrow) Roe whom he married May 20, 2006; two sons, David (Patricia) Roe, of Titusville, FL and Darrin (Vicky) Roe of Wheelersburg, OH; four grandsons, Nikalous Roe and wife, Tabitha (King) of Grove City, OH, Walker Roe of Wheelersburg, OH, Thomas Roe and Robert “RC” of Titusville, FL; two great-grandsons of Grove City, OH, Clynton and Jensyn.
In addition to his parents, Clinton was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Louise (Greene) Roe; five brothers, Ernest, Hubert, Alva, Vinson, Larry (AKA Budger), and a sister, Donna Steelman. He was a long-time member of Berean Baptist Church in Sciotoville, OH.
Clinton loved to dabble in woodworking, making many household items and children’s rocking chairs, quilt racks and picture frames, etc. Clinton is also survived by stepchildren, Anita (Stewart) Payne of Portsmouth and Nanette (Dan) Haney of Portsmouth, several step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren. All these he cared for as his own.
Services for Clinton will be at 11:00 am Friday, December 10, 2021, at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Reverend Harry Ramsey and Reverend Steve Mann officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5:00-8:00 pm Thursday, December 9, 2021, and one hour before the service at 11:00 am on Friday. The family’s favorite charities are the Missionary Fund Berean Baptist Church and SOMC Hospice.
