An inmate at the Scioto County Jail was airlifted to the hospital after being assaulted by another inmate on Saturday Night. The victim is a 19-year-old man recently indicted by a Scioto County Grand Jury on charges of rape, unlawful sexual contact with a minor, and gross sexual imposition.
Marcus Legg was arrested after an investigation by the Scioto County Special Victims Unit involving a 13-year-old victim.
Legg pleaded guilty back on July 11 to a sexual battery charge and a judge sentenced him to 4 years in jail with five years of supervision after he was released and a requirement to register as a sex offender. All other charges were dismissed.
An ambulance was dispatched to the Scioto County Jail just before 10 pm Saturday after a report of an assault victim in need of medical care. Legg was transported to the hospital by air ambulance around 10:33 pm.
Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman confirmed that an inmate was injured and that the suspect is another inmate at the jail.
However, Thoroughman did not provide the name since the suspect was not yet charged for the incident.
