Just before noon, a Birch Hollow Road resident contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office to report someone committed a dirty deed.
He said a thief made off with a Port-a-Potty from his property. The potty was at a lot at the end of the road. Officers took information for a report.
A man may or may not have tried to pay for some vehicle work with stolen ATVs. Just after 1 pm, a man called deputies to say a guy paid him for work with the title of a car and he then traded the car for 2 ATVs. He said the man who made the trade hadn’t brought him the titles yet and now a guy turned up at his house claiming to own the 4-wheelers.
The ATV owner said they were stolen from Pike County the Day before and he tracked them to the new owner’s home. However, when officers checked the VIN numbers, they didn’t see the vehicles listed as stolen.
Officers advised him to file a report in Pike County and to take civil action to retrieve his property.
