Several dogs were rescued from a sad situation on Junior Road over the weekend.
Officers responded to a report of animal neglect and abuse just after 9 am. They spoke to a dog owner who agreed to let officers in the house to check on her dogs. After speaking with officers, she agreed to give up 10 of the 12 dogs in the home.
Deputies tried to contact the dog warden without luck, but were able to get in touch with the humane agent, who said she was on the way. Shortly after, they also spoke to the dog warden.
The dog warden and humane agent removed 7 of the 11 dogs from the home and put together an agreement with the owner to improve the conditions.
