Police and EMS responded to numerous drug-related incidents around the city.
A local sporting goods store called Portsmouth Police just after 12:30 pm to report a woman who’d been inside the store left apparent drugs on the counter.
When an officer arrived on the scene, they found the shopper had left behind a crack pipe. Police impounded the paraphernalia and destroyed it.
At 6 pm, a caller reported an unresponsive person lying in an alley near Vermont and Young. The caller said they managed to wake the man up, but he ran into the woods where the homeless camp behind Aldi. Police could not locate the man.
At 10:30 pm, witnesses reported an unresponsive man on the ground in the 1300 block of High Street.

Officers took Mark Elderidge into Custody for drug possession.
An hour later, a 17th Street caller reported a man unresponsive in a Wayne Hills Apartment. Medics revived the man and transported him to SOMC for treatment.
Officers were called to Mound Park after witnesses found several used syringes in the area of the stone building. Police disposed of the hazardous needles in a sharps container.
Just after 9 pm, officers were called to Mac A Doos for a report of a woman lying in the parking lot. The woman told officers she must have just passed out. However, other people on the scene said they administered three doses of Narcan before she became alert.
A local rehab facility asked officers to check on a driver before he left the facility. They feared he was under the influence. Officers advised the man to wait for a ride since he didn’t have a valid driver’s license and explained his options regarding other rehab facilities.
