As of early 2025, the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office has elected to discontinue the lawful requirement of issuing detailed incident reports to the media. A Captain at the Sheriff’s office requested the reports be “hidden” from access on the Sundance reporting system. The only public documentation currently made available consists of basic dispatch logs, which provide minimal information about the types of calls and general locations. While these summaries offer some insight into daily operations, they lack the context and narrative formerly supplied in full incident reports. The following is a summary compiled solely from dispatch logs for Thursday, April 3, 2025, covering calls responded to by the Sheriff’s Office and area emergency medical services (EMS).

Call Volume Overview

On April 3, 2025, the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office and associated EMS services responded to over 75 separate incidents. These calls covered a wide range of public safety issues, including emergency medical needs, alarm drops, traffic hazards, suspicious activity, and criminal complaints.

On April 3, 2025, Scioto County law enforcement and EMS responded to a wide spectrum of calls with a heavy emphasis on traffic and road blockage reports—likely related to weather or road conditions—alongside routine medical, alarm, and investigative activity. While this log offers a glimpse into the demands faced by local responders, the lack of detailed reporting makes it difficult to assess the full nature and outcomes of these incidents.

For now, these dispatch logs remain the only publicly available insight into the daily activities of the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office.
