Richard Lynn Passmore Sr. of New Boston, Ohio, peacefully left this world on April 7, 2025, at the age of 80. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on December 2, 1944, Richard was a dedicated family man and a cherished friend who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Richard embraced life with an adventurous spirit and a deep appreciation for the great outdoors. His passion for fishing and enjoying nature often found him wandering the woods or cruising with his beloved wife, Linda as they delighted in the sight of baby deer and the serenity of the world around them.
Richard’s love for his family shone brightly, especially in the moments spent with his daughter, Linda Mae Sowards of New Boston and his sons and daughter in law: William “Billy” and Gayle Passmore of Kissimmee, FL and John Passmore of Peebles, and his sister, Betty Lou Gilpin of Portsmouth and his seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He fostered connections through laughter, shared stories, and quiet nights of reading a good book. An avid crossword puzzle enthusiast and chess player, he relished the challenge of a good game while embracing the joy of a well-spent day.
As a devoted fan of FSU College Football, Richard’s enthusiasm was contagious, bringing friends and family together in spirited discussions about the game and beyond. His love for wrestling matched his interest in sports, ensuring that he always had a lively conversation waiting to unfold.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lewis Passmore and Betty Page, his beloved wife of thirty-three years when she passed Linda Grace (Nee Ivarson) Passmore, and one son Richard Passmore, Jr.
Richard will be remembered for the kindness he shared with everyone he encountered. In these times of sorrow and remembrance, let us carry forward Richard’s spirit by embracing life’s simple joys and cherishing the connections we hold dear.
