Alice Margaret Briggs, 81, of Wheelersburg passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. Alice was born November 3, 1943 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Harry Edward Johancen and Dorothy Crawford Johancen. She worked at the former Pop’s Place Restaurant as a baker. In addition to her parents Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Douglas Briggs March 8, 2002 whom she married January 22, 1961 in Cleveland, OH; brothers, Charles and Jerry; sisters, Dottie Johancen, Rose Nizni, Marilyn Hill and Gertrude Foutz; daughters, Darlene Ann Harlow and Kelly Joy Coriell. Alice is survived by four sons, Douglas Matthew (Lynn) Briggs, Richard Allen Briggs, Philip Andrew Briggs and Jason Paul (Betty) Briggs; a daughter, Holly Marie (Jeremy) Childers; five brothers, Harry, Larry, Wayne, Danny and Bill Johancen; a sister, Doreen Lally; twenty grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Services for Alice will be 1:00 pm Friday, May 2, 2025 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Terry Wagner officiating. Interment will be in Wheelersburg Cemetery.
