Scioto County first responders had their hands full on Monday, June 30, 2025, answering 78 separate calls for service that covered the full spectrum—from prowlers in the early morning hours to traffic stops, house fires, EMS runs, and juvenile disturbances by nightfall.
While the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office stopped providing detailed call logs to Scioto County Daily News in early 2025, we remain committed to keeping the public informed with all the information still available.
🚑 EMS & Fire Calls: Over 30 Runs in One Day
Emergency squads rolled out more than 30 times across the county for everything from accidents and overdoses to routine transports. Among the notable medical and fire-related calls:
- Three vehicle crashes with injuries—including one on Big Bear Creek Road and another at the US 52 and Haverhill-Ohio Furnace intersection.
- Multiple fire-related incidents, including reports at Lafayette Lane and the Roadway Inn on US 23.
- Frequent EMS runs to facilities like Focus Outpatient, Edgewood Manor, and SOMC Urgent Care.
Several patients were transported from residential areas including Dutch Ridge, Dry Fork, Pine Lane, and Coal Bank Hollow Road. There were also non-transports, often suggesting refusals or minor issues not requiring hospital visits.
🚓 Crime and Complaint Responses
Deputies also stayed busy with a wide variety of investigations, logging over two dozen calls:
- Theft and burglary: Items were reported stolen along State Route 772 and Lafayette Lane.
- Juvenile complaints: Officers were called out to Kinker Drive and Kulp Road for unruly youth.
- Assaults and threats: Threats and harassment were reported on Stennett Road, South Street, and Pleasant Drive.
A prowler was spotted early Monday on Dry Run Mount Hope Road, and multiple suspicious person calls popped up near businesses including Scoop Dogg Dairy Bar, Hanes Chevrolet, and Boland’s Mini Mart.
🚨 Alarms and Traffic
False alarms continued to drain resources, with six alarm drops labeled either false or canceled at locations like:
- Still Meadow Road
- Sherborne Road
- Route 335
- Dry Run Road
- Lowe’s on Ohio River Road
Meanwhile, 13 traffic-related stops and warnings were issued throughout the county. Offenders were pulled over in familiar spots like:
- Gallia Pike and Mill Road
- Aldi and Super Quick
- State Route 73 and Tires R Us
- Scioto Trail and 20th Street
Several incidents involved road blockages, including Dutch Ridge and Buena Vista.

- Gallia Pike was the busiest street of the day, with at least five separate incidents, including traffic, EMS, and suspicious persons.
- Kelli Apartments once again appeared in the logs with civil processes, investigations, and previous ongoing reports.
- Pirate Drive’s Randall House saw two EMS calls, and Morgan Drive was logged for both investigative follow-up and civil process.
