In Loving Memory of Brent Tyler Tipton born March 20, 1992, and passing, October 30, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Brent Tyler Tipton, age 33, a beloved son, grandson, father, brother, nephew, uncle and friend.
Tyler was a beacon of kindness and compassion in a world that often needs more of both. His heart was golden — overflowing with love, empathy, and generosity for everyone he met.
Whether it was a stranger in need, someone experiencing homelessness, or a friend going through a hard time, Tyler was always there with a helping hand, a comforting word, or a warm hug. His presence was a gift, and his spirit radiated love and acceptance. Above all, Tyler was a devoted father. His son, Zander was his world, his greatest joy, and the center of his life. He poured his heart into fatherhood, creating memories filled with laughter, love, and unwavering support. He was deeply loved by his family and countless friends, all of whom were touched by his warmth, his humor, and his unwavering loyalty. His absence leaves a void that can never be filled, but his legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him unconditionally.
He worked as a crew member on the river boats for many years. He had many talents to include specializing in horticulture.
Tyler is survived by his cherished son, Zander Brent Tipton, his mother, Trista Mershon, his grandparents, Charleigh and Kimberly Tipton Schultz from Galena, Ohio, his grandfather, Ronald Tipton, from Columbus, Ohio his sister, Nicole Tipton, her children Emma and Jackson Ohm, his aunt, Brandi Baldridge (Dustin), all of whom he dearly loved and many other family members and friends who will carry his memory forward with love. Proceeded in death by Brent Daniel Tipton, Tyler’s father.A celebration of Tyler’s life will be Thursday November 6, 2025 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A graveside service will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery with Pastor David Dowdy officiating, and a eulogy will be given. All who knew and loved him are welcome to gather and honor the beautiful soul we were all blessed to know.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to an education fund for his beloved son, Zander.
