Chastitty Nichole Underwood, 27, and her precious son, Kyler Patrick Underwood, 2, of Portsmouth, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021, from injuries sustained in a car accident in Lewis County, KY.
Chastitty was born June 24, 1994, in Portsmouth, a daughter of Shannon Lynn McCleese Altman and Danael Ray Altman. She delivered Kyler, her oldest child, in Huntington, WV on February 12, 2019.
Chastitty worked in the medical office of Dr. Khoury until recently and she was a 2013 graduate of Northwest High School. She enjoyed being a mother and dearly loved her children. The family attended Living Faith Temple.
Kyler was a very charismatic little boy who loved cars and his binky. He also loved his baby sister, whom he called Nye Nye, more than anything.
Surviving Chastitty and Kyler is Husband & Daddy, Patrick La’Shea Underwood, and the family’s youngest child, Nya La’Shea Underwood. Patrick and Chastitty were married in Hillsboro on October 18, 2019.
Also surviving are Chastitty’s parents, Shannon Altman of Lucasville and Danael Altman of San Tan Valley, AZ; Patrick’s parents, Grant (Bobbie) Underwood of Quincy, KY and Christy (Joseph) Beatty of Columbus; Chastitty’s brother, Danael Ray (Alexandra) Altman, Jr. of Rosemount and her stepsister, Breanna Nichole Osborn of Portsmouth; Chastitty’s grandparents, Sharon Altman of Lucasville and Paulette Van Hoose of McDermott; Kyler’s great-grandmother, Laverne Underwood of Portsmouth; his special cousin, Bryon Nathaniel Underwood III of Portsmouth; Chastitty’s special cousin, Gage Tyler Altman of Waverly; the family’s special neighbors, Bill and Joyce Netter; and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at noon Friday at Christ’s Community Church with Bishop Marcus Bendolph officiating and interment following in Memorial Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth from 6 to 8 PM Thursday and one hour prior to services at the church Friday.
Contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
