Ohio State Troopers called in the EPA for cleanup assistance after a semi crash caused 100 gallons of diesel fuel to spill on St. Rt. 73.
A semi-truck smashed into a guardrail at about 4 am, knocking the guardrail across the road and spilling fuel all over the scene. Fortunately, the driver was not injured.
A Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputy parked a cruiser in a blind spot to alert oncoming traffic of the incident and troopers called in the EPA to control the spill.
Officers shut down a section of the road while ODOT and the EPA sent personnel to the scene to begin a cleanup that took most of the day.
