Thaddeus ‘Thad’ Matthew Blizzard, 58, of Fort Worth, TX passed away on August 17, 2025. Thad was a cherished soul whose kindness, warmth, and generosity touched the lives of all who knew him.
Thad was born in Portsmouth, OH, and graduated in 1985 as Valedictorian from Green High School. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in business from Georgia State University in Atlanta. Thad was a partner with Peachtree Mortgage Services, Inc. for 31 years. As CFO, he managed the day-to-day operations of the company as well as the finances. Thad loved gardening and plants, reading Pulitzer Prize-winning novels, traveling, and especially meeting new people. Everyone he met was an instant friend. His knowledge of geography and cities was also incredible, and with every new person he met, he could recite an interesting fact about their hometown.
Thad was incredibly giving of his time, lending a helping hand to anyone in need, volunteering with the Fort Worth Citizen’s Fire Academy and serving on the board of the Arlington Heights Neighborhood Association. Thad loved his neighbors and his neighborhood, and was known by many as the Honorary Mayor of Arlington Heights.
Surviving is his husband, Brian Bohl; four brothers, Paul (Peggy Shope) Blizzard, Arthur (Euginia Cooper) Blizzard, Carl (the late Brenda Kilgore) Blizzard, and Wilford (Rebecca Gannon) Blizzard; a sister, Audrey Blizzard (the late Michael) Yarnell; 17 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and great nephews.
Thad was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Ethyle (Osborne) Blizzard; two brothers, John Henry Blizzard, and Leonard (wife Carol O’Bryan survives) Blizzard; and two sisters, Rose Shope Blizzard (husband Phillip survives) White, and Bonnie Karshner Blizzard (the late Ronald) Ruse.
Thad maintained a close bond lasting throughout adulthood with his nephew, David (Wendy) Karshner, and their children, Joshua and Jeremy Karshner; his niece, Angela Blizzard (Paul) Sheets, and children, Aurora and Autumn Holley; and niece, Mary Karshner (Eddie) Smith, and children Gage and Makayla Smith.
A memorial service will be held in Thad’s honor at a later date.
