Portsmouth police made two separate arrests during overnight traffic stops just four minutes apart, with both drivers ending up in jail and both vehicles hauled away by tow trucks.
🚔 FIRST STOP ENDS WITH ARREST
The first stop happened around 1:35 a.m. near 17th Street and Linden Avenue.
According to the report, officers attempted to stop a vehicle, but the driver continued rolling for a short distance before finally pulling over in front of a residence in the 1600 block of Linden Avenue.
Police arranged to have the vehicle towed from the scene.
The driver was taken into custody and booked into the Scioto County Jail.
🚓 FOUR MINUTES LATER…
Just four minutes later, at approximately 1:39 a.m., another Portsmouth officer conducted a traffic stop at the Speedway on Gallia Street.
That stop ended much the same way.
Officers took the driver into custody, arranged for the vehicle to be towed, and transported the driver to jail.
⚖️ CHARGES NOT RELEASED
The incident reports indicate both drivers were arrested, but additional details regarding the charges were not immediately available.
🚨 BUSY NIGHT FOR POLICE
While unrelated, the two incidents happened within minutes of each other and resulted in nearly identical outcomes — two traffic stops, two arrests, two tows, and two bookings into the Scioto County Jail before most residents were awake.
