Worried Dad Reports Suspicious Man at Playground
A worried father contacted Portsmouth Police at 5 pm to report some suspicious activity at the park near Spartan Stadium.
The man said an older male in a pickup truck was watching his children play in the park. He believed that the man might have taken pictures of the girls.
Police responded to the scene and spoke to the man in the truck.
Woman Threatens Kroger Employees
Kroger employees contacted Portsmouth Police just before 7 pm to report problems with a woman who has been a source of trouble at the store before.
They said a woman who had previously been barred from the property was back and that she had threatened employees.
The woman left the scene with a backpack in hand and was last spotted headed toward Tracy Park. Police could not locate the woman.
Underage BB Gun Bandits Target Cat
A woman contacted Portsmouth Police with a lead in the string of BB gun drive-by shootings that have plagued the area since earlier in the year.
A Mound Park Neighborhood Watch member said a neighbor had sent her photos and videos of juveniles riding around in a truck armed with BB guns.
The video contained audio of one of the juveniles holding one of the 2 realistic-looking BB gun rifles and saying, “Hey, shoot that cat.”
City Seizes Dog After Pit Bull Attack on Robinson Avenue
Animal Control took custody of a loose dog after a pit bull attack on Robinson Avenue. Just after 9 pm, a caller reported that a loose pit bull had attacked her dog.
She managed to chain the loose dog up but was unsure who it belonged to. Officers and animal control responded to the scene. Animal Control took custody of the pit bull, and the injured dog’s owners took it to the vet for treatment.
