Police say a 22-year-old Ironton man killed his grandfather and fled to Scioto County when his gruesome crime was discovered.
Ironton Police were first alerted to the crime when garbage workers reported a man putting suspicious bags into his truck. When police responded to the scene, they discovered the bags were stuffed with bloody clothes. When police did a welfare check at the home the bags came from, they discovered the body of 73-year-old Harold Pleasant rolled up in a rug and stuffed under a deck.
That’s when his grandson, Kace Pleasant, took off and headed for Scioto County.
Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies ran into Pleasant when he got into a scuffle with a woman at a Lucasville business. Deputies took him into custody, and he was transported to the hospital.
Ironton officials say Kace Pleasant is now charged with murder.
