Portsmouth police rushed to Wayne Hills around 6 a.m. after a caller reported a burglary in progress and said a man was kicking at a door.
Officers responded priority to the area and detained a man within minutes. Police later took him into custody while officers gathered statements and information for a report.
The man, who was described as homeless, was arrested on charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct and booked into the Scioto County Jail.

The police log does not indicate that he was charged with burglary or explain what led to the resisting arrest charge.
A second caller also contacted police from a nearby 17th Street apartment during the incident.
