A Swauger Valley Road family called 911 to complain about a guest who wouldn’t leave their home.
They said they’d allowed a woman to stay there temporarily while she was painting their house. They claimed the woman left but had later returned and now refused to leave.
When dispatch explained they’d have to file to evict the woman, the homeowner asked to speak to a deputy.
Officers learned the woman received mail there and had registered to vote at that address. They emphasized the homeowner must go through the courts to evict her.
They gave the woman notice in front of an officer that they planned to evict her.
